OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DRIVER ASSESSMENTS
In Victoria, law permits specially trained and registered Occupational Therapists the right to conduct a driver assessment where there is medical concern about an individual’s ability to drive. Through undertaking an Occupational Therapy Driver Assessment, Occupational Focus aims to assist people with medical conditions, disability, impairment or age related conditions to resume or continue driving in a safe and legal manner. These assessments may also be used to support an individual’s return to work. Occupational Focus will travel to you to complete the assessment.

MEDICO-LEGAL ASSESSMENTS & REPORTING
Occupational Focus provides comprehensive assessment and reports to solicitors, insurers and other interested parties who require independent expert Occupational Therapy opinion in legal disputes and claims involving issues of disability and its implications for the individual.
ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING ASSESSMENTS
Occupational Focus offers comprehensive activity of daily living assessments which assess an individual’s capacity to complete everyday tasks including personal care, domestic duties, gardening or any other task that is important and or necessary for you to do in your daily life. Occupational Focus will then make recommendations about better and safer ways to manage such tasks, this may include equipment, home modifications, functional education and self-management strategies, all of which share the same goal of maintaining your level of independence.
TAC AND WORKSAFE BENEFIT AND SUPPORT SERVICE ASSESSMENTS
Occupational Focus is a contracted provider of Benefit and Support Service Assessments (BASSA) to the TAC and Worksafe. A BASSA can provide advice to the TAC or Worksafe regarding a client's need for TAC or Worksafe funded benefits and support services which have resulted from the client’s transport accident or work related injuries.
These benefits and support services include:
- Attendant care
- Domestic services
- Home services
- Household Help
- Home modifications
- Equipment
Referral for a BASSA can only be made by TAC or Worksafe Insurer.
SERVICES FOR LIFE INSURANCE AND INCOME PROTECTION INSURERS
Occupational Focus offers a range of services to insurers in the life insurance and income protection market. These services may include:

ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENTS
Occupational Focus’ ergonomic assessments are designed to assess an individual’s workstation to ensure they are set-up appropriately to minimise the risk of injury, enhance productivity, boost health and wellbeing, and improve performance. These assessments have a strong educational component which aims to empower individuals to manage their health, not only through correct ergonomic set-up but also through implementation of behavioural change. These assessments can also be used to support the return to work of an injured worker, by ensuring the workstation is designed to minimise discomfort and avoid aggravation of the injury. Occupational Focus offers a range of ergonomic assessment services including:

WORKPLACE ASSESSMENTS
Occupational Focus’ workplace assessments are designed to assess the critical demands (physical, psychosocial, cognitive and communication) of an employees work tasks and duties, and to determine the worker's capacity to safely undertake the various demands of the role. The assessment aims to identify any risk factors which may place the employee at risk of injury, allows for identification and management of barriers to a return to work or maintenance at work, and will help to determine whether workplace modifications, equipment, job redesign or further rehabilitation is required.
WORKING FROM HOME ASSESSMENTS
Occupational Focus offers a Working from Home Assessment Service which is specifically targeted at self-employed people who work from home. As someone who works from home, and can spend hours at a desk I understand that we can sometimes experience pain. This service involves a comprehensive assessment of the workstation set-up, education on staying active during the work day, as well as recommendations for equipment needs where required.
